Farm News: May Milk Price Holds HopecommentsPosted: 06.01.2010
Wisconsin’s May milk price is expected to average $15.00 per hundredweight (cwt.) or $1.28 per gallon. This price is 50 cents higher than April’s price of $14.50 per cwt. and $3.40 more than May 2009. The expected U.S. milk price for May is also projected at $15.00 per cwt. This is up 40 cents from April, and the same as Wisconsin’s price. With the exception of Vermont, which is ex-pecting no change in price, all of the major milk produc-ing states are predicting a price increase from April to May. Wisconsin’s and Michigan’s prices are both ex-pected to rise by 50 cents, while New York will be up 40 cents. |
