Farm News: Manitowoc Returns As Host To State Holstein ShowcommentsPosted: 07.07.2010 For the first time since 1979, Manitowoc will host the states gathering of Holstein genetics. The 51st edition of the Wisconsin Championship Holstein Show will be held Monday and Tuesday, July 12 and 13 at the Manitowoc County Fairgrounds in Manitowoc.
Holstein breeders from across the state will travel to the Manitowoc area for what is regarded as one of the premier shows in the nation. Many of the cattle from this show will likely stand at the top of their class at World Dairy Expo.
The heifers will grace the shavings starting at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 12. Judge Roger Turner of Guelph, Ontario will be placing animals both days. The show will resume on Tuesday at 9 a.m. with the cow show.
Todd Borgwardt, a Valders-area dairy producer who's chairing the event said they've had over 75 businesses step forward to financially support this year’s show.
