Shrinkage and loss for 2009 totaled 123,000 cwt. The state’s onions brought, on average, $10.80 per cwt., for a total of $9.47 mil-lion.

Wisconsin farmers expect to harvest 6,800 acres of fresh market sweet corn in 2010. This would be a de-crease of 200 acres when compared with 2009. Nation-ally, the number of acres harvested for fresh market sweet corn is predicted to increase from 93,800 acres in 2009 to 104,500 acres in 2010.
