Farm News: New Womens Conference Coming In 2011commentsPosted: 07.28.2010 A first-ever "Wisconsin Ag Women’s Summit" is coming to Wisconsin Dells in March of 2011. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, UW-Extension and Badgerland Financial are all teaming up for the event - designed for women that work on the farm, are in agribusiness or just passionate about agriculture. Tammy Beard, senior marketing coordinator for Badgerland Financial and planning committee member said attendees will be able to connect with other women in ag, plus hear speakers address a wide variety of topics and issues.
The theme for the 2011 Wisconsin Ag Women’s Summit is “Reach the Unreached: Awaken the You You’re Meant to Be.” Former Olympic runner and Wisconsin native Suzy Favor Hamilton will be the Summit’s keynote speaker. Her unique story and the lessons she’s learned on and off the track serve as motivation for women of all ages and backgrounds. A full agenda and registration details will be released at a later date.
