Farm News: Dairyland Youth Celebration Adds New FeaturescommentsPosted: 08.02.2010 It just seems natural - Wisconsin's State Fair, recognizing the next generation of dairy leaders! That's what will happen at the 2010 Dairyland Youth Celebration.
The event celebrates the achievements of Wisconsin State Fair junior dairy exhibitors. To make sure industry leaders are noticing, the event is adding some jazzy new features!
On Saturday, August 7, starting at 2 p.m., in Wisconsin State Fair Park’s Coliseum - the GRAND CHAMPION of each breed - along with the Supreme Champion Showperson and Supreme Champion Dairy Goat - will be represented in a LIVE AUCTION! The auction designed to not only benefit the winning youth exhibitor, but also the Wisconsin 4-H Dairy Endowment Fund, the Wisconsin State Fair Park Foundation and the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board.
Other new features this year include presentation of showmanship winners - and THREE special silent auction packages that will be sold to the highest bidder at the event!
Since the event started in 2007, the Dairyland Youth Celebration has raised more than $30,000 for dairy youth and dairy-youth programs in the state.
This year, the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board will award five, $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing dairy-related degrees.
