Kathy Pielsticker has been selected to serve as the new director of the Land and Water Resources Bureau at the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection.

For the past 5 years, Pielsticker has served as the administrator for the Division of Agricultural Resource Management, which included oversight of programs in the Land and Water Resources bureau. She also worked for 18 years at the United States Department of Agriculture-Natural Resource Conservation Service, including nine years as a soil conservationist and soil scientist.

Pielsticker says her past professional experience have given her a sincere appreciation for the complexity and importance of agriculture and the land and water resources in the state. She says she's looking forward to working closely with many of the partners and programs critical to Wisconsin agriculture, including the Working Lands Initiative and Livestock Facility Siting.
