After staying up all night for overnight Sunday morning I spent catching up on some much needed sleep. I ended up waking up in time for lunch and for watering all of the animals. Then it was time for the herdsmanship awards to be announced. Following the herdsmanship awards was the very famous Tug-of-War for the junior dairy exhibitors.   Green County always does really well. This year was like no others. The six of us ended up receiving second place. We were really excited.

 

At the conclusion of the tug-of-war it was tear down time. Since Green County brings so many exhibitors and so many animals we can tear down our stuff for the state fair extremely fast. Then we have to haul it out tour semi so that it can be hauled back to Monroe for us to unload later this week. 

 

When the hauler arrived at the fairgrounds we were more than ready for him. We had the animals watered and ready to go. It ended up only taking us 30 mins to load the trailer. Once the animals were off and on their way it was time for us to say good bye to the Wisconsin State Fair and goodbye to another very successful trip to the state fair. For some of us this was much harder than for others. Being that is was mine and my best friends last years at the State Fair we were all extremely sad to have to leave the fairgrounds knowing that this was more than likely the last time that we would ever be together showing dairy cattle at the same time again. This is our life. It is what we love to do and it is how we met each other. We will forever remember all of the long overnights, the early mornings, and all of the extremely hard work that goes into showing cattle. But what we will remember the most is each other and all of the amazing memories that we have shared together over the years and will continue to do in the future.
