Strong thunderstorms left bridges and roadways washed out in western Wisconsin.

In St. Croix  County, 911 center director Casey Swetlik says nearly 20 roadways and 9 bridges were impassable Tuesday night because of flash flooding.

State Emergency Management Division spokeswoman Lori Getter says
flooding in Baldwin forced officials to evacuate 16 people from an
assisted living facility called Comforts of Home and another 24
people from a nearby apartment building.

No one was injured.

In Pierce County, sheriff's officials have closed Highway 63
south of Highway 29 and Highway 29 west of Highway 63.

Deputies evacuated some homes in Martell and El Paso along the Rush River
because of rising water.
