Farm News: DBA Selects Democratic Primary Candidate

The Dairy Business Association's (DBA) Board of Directors have chosen to endorse Tom Nelson in the Democratic Primary for Lieutenant Governor.  Tom has the leadership, skills and work ethic needed to grow the dairy industry.

"Tom Nelson is just as hard-working as the dairy families in Wisconsin," said Laurie Fischer, DBA Executive Director.  "We believe he'll use his work ethic to help grow our agriculture industry to pull Wisconsin out of this current down economy."

Nelson is in his third term in the State Assembly representing parts of the Fox Valley and was voted by his peers to serve in a key leadership role as the Assembly Majority Leader. In 2004, Nelson was known for knocking on over 20,000 doors to win a typically Republican district.

"Tom's district is deeply rooted in dairy production and cheese making.  He has the experience of representing a diverse group of dairy businesses and understands the vital role dairy plays in Wisconsin's economy," commented Jerry Meissner, President of DBA.
