Farm News: Simple Ballot For Cranberry GrowerscommentsPosted: 08.27.2010
Cranberry producers have voted to re-elect Scott Schultz of Warrens, William Wolfe of Nekoosa and Douglas Rifleman of Wisconsin Rapids to the Wisconsin Cranberry Marketing Order Board.
The elected directors will serve a new three-year term beginning September 1, 2010 and finishing August 31, 2013.
The Wisconsin Cranberry Board collects assessments of $.10 per barrel from grower sales of cranberries. The board invests these grower assessments into research, education and market development projects. Wisconsin continues to be the #1 producer of cranberries in the nation with the 2010 harvest predicted to reach 4.35 million barrels, the second largest harvest in Wisconsin.
