A Wisconsin ethanol plant wants to thank its community – and demonstrate how energy independence is right in their back yard.

Thursday, September 16th – Didion Ethanol, LLC in Cambria will launch its first “Didion Green Energy Expo” with the focus on renewable and sustainability awareness. The expo will run from 2-7 p.m. at their ethanol facility on Highway 146 in Cambria. It’s free and open to the public.

Some of the schedule activities include tours of the facility from 2-6 – plus their will be an expo showcase with educational booths. Organizers hope this event will help the general public know more about what the plant is doing to work toward energy independence – while minimizing environmental impact and helping the local economy.

For people with questions – there’s an expert panel discussions that starts at 2:30 with 3-4 industry experts to spark educational discussions around a renewable and
sustainable way of life and the ethanol industry.

Christine Lindner, 2010 Alice in Dairyland  will be at the Expo with her E-85 Flex-Fuel
Chevrolet Tahoe. For the young guests – there will be a special appearance by “Captain Cornelius” and they’ll be able to make their own putty from corn starch and also participate in a coloring contest for a chance to win a gift card.

A program by Didion will begin at 6pm and will include a flag raising ceremony by the American
Legion with the Friesland Band accompanying. Didion will also present awards and donations
including $25,000 to the Old Mill Foundation (www.oldmillfoundation.com).
